Data Logging

During lecture, I learnt about data logging. It is associated with computer, data logger and sensor. Computer in this term is the software to utilize the software. While, data logger is an electronic instrument that records measurements over time. The readings are then transferred to PC. Lastly, sensor is an instrument to convert physical quantity into electrical signal. 

  1. The advantages are :  
    • Better understanding of scientific experimentation.
    • More collegial collaboration opportunities.
    • Greater interest in practical work. 
    • Enhanced computer literacy.
    • Better understanding of science concept.    
    • Better graphing skills. 
    • Opportunities for interdisciplinary projects.
    • New innovative experiments possible. 
  2. The disadvantages are :
    • Unlike-able with computer system.
    • Students can't relate science concepts and theory.
    • Increase work load of teachers. 
    • Reduce practice of graphing skills. 
    • Loss of conventional methods of data collection. 
Then, I learnt about phases in learning :
  1. Engage.
  2. Empower.
  3. Enhance.
  4. Extension.

Content Analysis PBL

Last two weeks, I need to present about :
" What are the issues and challenges in integrating ICT in teaching and learning in our Malaysian Schools?"

What is ICT?

What is ICT? It is Information and Communication Technology in Science. This is one of the major course I took in my study in Semester 5.  
During first class, I learnt about ICT, what are the effects, what are the advantages, what are the relation between teachers and ICT.
  1. The effects in education are :
    • The capacity to present ideas are dynamically.
    • The feedback are fast and quick.
    • The capacity to present information is easily changed.
  2. The advantages are :
    • Time-save
      • 5% learning.
      • 1% time spent to make document.
      • 95% learning time in analyzing.
      • 53% learning time.
      • 45% time spent to record data.
      • 2% time left for students. 
  3. Relation between teachers and ICT  are :
    • Need to aware of the ICT applications.
    • Can recognise the potential of ICT for supporting and enhancing in classroom. 
    • Become familiar in using ICT.
    • Apply the use of ICT in classroom.
